My last minute bid to get into Northwestern has ended in mixed results. I was not accpeted into the Fall class, but have been guranteed admission into the second year class as a transfer provided I finish with at least a 3.33 GPA. They were impressed with my background, but without grades to clarify my good but not good enough LSAT score they just couldn’t take me. So, Beki will head to Northwestern (she’s made what I think is the right decision to not be blinded by the Harvard name and is instead going with the program that she’s actually excited about) and I’ll be…where? It’s looking like Emory. Hotlanta. There’s still the possibility that I’ll end up in Boston, but they have been absolutely terrible about getting my decision, so even if I get in I probably won’t go. Emory has been nothing but informative and enthusiastic while Boston has been not at all helpful and rather incompentent. I now want an acceptance letter just so I can throw it in their face.

The Northwestern offer leaves me with the option of transfering after my first year. This would be great because I could be with Beki, but it might put me in an awkward position if I love Emory. Either way, the decision won’t be made for over a year, so it’s not worth worrying about right now. I hope to give my final deposit soon and to be officially done with this terrible process.

In other news, my tickets to Florida have been purchased. I’ll be in St Pete/Sarasota from May 24th till the 28th. If you’ll also be around, let me know. I’ll probably end up at PCP, about which I have mixed feelings. I only had lots of fun at one PCP and that was the one where I was the DJ. On the other hand it will be my best chance to see folks that I haven’t seen since last graduation. Maybe I can pick people off for walks to the bay. Grab some one, walk with them to the bay and back and then grab some one else. I bet it will be a smashing success. Reserve your tickets early.
